Mini & Mocha gathering at the P1NK Supercar Hangout

This Sunday marked my first visit to the P1NK Supercar Hangout in Cardiff, attending their Mini & Mocha event. I’ve been to my fair share of car meets, but there’s something uniquely special about P1NK, especially as it’s becoming a go-to destination for local petrolheads.

I drove over in my Mini Clubman JCW, which always feels like the perfect car for such occasions, and was accompanied by my wife and daughter. My daughter was thrilled by the event and quickly gravitated towards one car in particular—a stunning, bright pink Ferrari California. It’s owned by Lisa, who not only runs the show at P1NK but also has an interesting story behind this Ferrari, which unfortunately has sustained some damage. If you’re curious about what happened, I’d suggest following Lisa on Instagram to find out more—it’s quite the story.

    What is Mini & Mocha?

If you’re unfamiliar with Mini & Mocha, it’s a monthly meet-up that takes place on the third Sunday of every month. It’s a brilliant chance for members of Cardiff Mini Club and local Mini enthusiasts to gather for a coffee, some tasty bites, and a chat. While the turnout was smaller than usual this time due to the typical Welsh weather, there were still a few brave souls who showed up with their Minis, determined not to let a little rain spoil the fun.

Among the handful of cars that turned up, one brave owner brought along their Mini Classic—always a fan favourite, even in the rain. There were also several Mini hatches, but the standout of the day for me had to be one particular hatch done up in an incredible rally style. It’s easily one of the best-looking Minis I’ve ever seen—sporty, aggressive, and full of character.

    A Taste of Local Flavours

One of the highlights of the event, aside from the cars, was the food. There were delicious bacon rolls and fresh sausage baps, all locally sourced by Lisa and the team at P1NK. Nothing beats the taste of quality ingredients paired with a good cup of coffee while chatting about cars.

    A Local Spot for Petrolheads

What I really appreciate about the P1NK Supercar Hangout is how accessible it is. Located just off Sloper Road (Unit 10, Gripoly House, Sloper Rd, Cardiff CF11 8AA), it’s super easy to find, making it a convenient stop for local car enthusiasts. Cardiff doesn’t have many places like this where you can take your car, hang out with fellow petrolheads, and enjoy a laid-back atmosphere.

    P1NK

Beyond these monthly meets, P1NK offers a range of services, including valeting, which I’ve already decided I’ll be booking my Mini in for. It’s always nice to support local businesses that cater to car lovers and provide such a welcoming space.

    The Car Hangout Craze

These sorts of car hangouts are becoming more and more popular. You only have to look at places like Caffeine & Machine to see how much people enjoy having a place where they can just chill out with their cars. It’s great to see a similar setup here in Cardiff, where we can gather, showcase our cars, and chat with others who share the same passion.

If you’re a Mini owner or a car enthusiast, I’d highly recommend checking out Mini & Mocha at P1NK next month. Whether rain or shine, you’re guaranteed a good time, some tasty food, and the chance to meet like-minded car lovers. Hopefully, we’ll see a bigger turnout next time, and I’m excited to see what cars show up!
