Tesla has launched a new cabin configuration in the UK on its global best-seller Model Y – the 7-Seater option. An additional extra for £2,500 on the Long-Range All Wheel Drive Model Y.
Since day 1, Model Y has been designed to be the perfect family-SUV, offering a high level of versatility. Hundreds of thousands of households across the globe have chosen Model Y as their primary vehicle, covering both daily commutes and long-distance travels. With ample cargo space and the ability to tow up to 1,600 kg, Model Y is suited to every lifestyle.
Family, friends and all the gear needed
With the introduction of the 7-Seater option in UK, we’re taking versatility to a new level. Model Y 7-Seater is ideal for families with kids, offering modularity needed to accommodate all family members, friends and their gear.
Compared to a Model Y 5-Seater, this new cabin configuration offers a third row with two forward-facing seats, which fold flat for maximum storage. Access to the third row is easy thanks to ingress buttons located on the backrest of each second row outside seat. When pressed, the second row slides forward and folds, allowing easy step-in and step-out. Once seated, third row passengers have comfortable headroom thanks to their positioning under the rear glass and can charge their mobile devices with two USB-C outlets.
Model Y 7-Seater offers up to 2,040 liters of cargo volume. Designed from the ground up as an electric vehicle, it leverages the absence of a large front engine and rear fuel tank to provide 117 liters of storage under the front hood and 363 liters behind the third row. This means that even with 7 passengers comfortably seated in the cabin, owners can still fit 2 carry-on suitcases in the trunk and 2 large bags in the frunk. And when the third row is folded flat, 753 liters are available to easily fit strollers, scooters, folding beds or 850 individual diapers. You never know.
Premium features and ecosystem, at an affordable price
The 7-Seater option is available exclusively on Model Y Long Range All-Wheel Drive. Made in our Berlin-Brandenburg Gigafactory, Model Y Long Range All-Wheel Drive 7-Seater comes with the highest level of premium materials, convenience, safety, and connected features included as standard.
As is the case with all Tesla vehicles, Model Y Long Range All-Wheel Drive 7-Seater has access to Tesla’s Supercharger network, the largest and most reliable ultra-fast charging network in the world. Combined with 331 miles WLTP of range (351 miles est. with standard 19” wheels) and a highly efficient powertrain, this translates into shorter charging stops during family road trips, and more kilometers for every pound spent on charging.
Model Y is also much more affordable than most people think – when factoring in incentives, fuel savings and minimal maintenance, Model Y has ownership costs close to those of mass-market -less premium- vehicles, starting at £349 per month for Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive*.
First customer deliveries in UK of Model Y Long Range All-Wheel Drive 7-Seater will happen later this quarter.
