Hyundai Motor UK has announced pricing and specification for the All-new INSTER, Hyundai’s 1st small EV for the European Market.

The first small SUV EV in Hyundai’s electric line-up, INSTER is not only a practical choice for urban driving but can also deliver strong performance on longer drives with a range of up to 229 miles and equipment to deliver optimised recharge times, with heat pump and battery heating system as standard.

INSTER’s exterior design is characterized by its robust yet small SUV profile with flush, clean surfaces, and strong design cues. Inster share’s its pixel design on the front bumper with the IONIQ family and a bold skid plate enhancing the front and rear design. INSTER’s personality shines through with its LED daytime running light signature and pixel-graphic turn signals, tail lamp, and bumpers. Customers can further differentiate the car’s appearance with LED projection headlamps and a two-tone exterior with a contrasting black roof. Either 15-inch alloy or 17-inch alloy wheels will be offered depending on specification.

Inside, INSTER provides enhanced technology and convenience with a 10.25-inch digital cluster, a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen with navigation and a wireless charging dock that forms part of a compact centre console. Interior design also features customizable upper door trim garnishes for owners to further personalise their vehicle. INSTER’s interior offers versatility and spaciousness, with the front row seating providing walk-through access. All seats can be folded flat – including the driver’s seat – for increased flexibility.
    Hyundai INSTER
INSTER excels with its DC charging speed and range, enabling customers to spend less time charging, travel further and take full advantage of the energy at their disposal. Equipped with a 42kWh battery as standard, INSTER is also available with a Long-Range 49kWh battery as an option. Both models are powered by a single motor that delivers 71.1 kW (97 PS) and 84.5 kW (115 PS) in the Long-Range car. Both versions offer 147 Nm of torque.

With a segment-leading projected range of up to 229 miles on a single charge for the Long-Range model, INSTER redefines what is possible from a small urban EV, delivering impressive flexibility with an estimated energy consumption of up to 4.2 mi/kWh. INSTER comes equipped with an 11kW on-board charger as standard, as does a battery heating system and high-efficiency heat pump, optimising both range and charging times. External and internal Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality provides power for external devices, allowing bi-directional charging without requiring additional equipment. This enables customers to freely use or charge devices such as laptops, electric bicycles, scooters and camping equipment.

INSTER offers the most complete technology package in the segment, including comprehensive Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features such as Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist Rear (PCA-R) and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 1.5 (FCA 1.5). Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) and Lane Following Assist (LFA) are also offered, as are Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA), Safety Exit Warning (SEW), Smart Cruise Control (SCC) w/ Stop and Go, Highway Driving Assist 1.5 (HDA 1.5), Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), High Beam Assist (HBA), Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LVDA) and Rear Occupant Alert (ROA).

The INSTER range starts with the INSTER 01 42kWh 97PS priced from £23,495. The 01 features comprehensive equipment including 15” alloy wheels, 10.25” digital instrument cluster, 10.25” touchscreen display with navigation, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, Bluelink connected car services with over-the-air updates, rear parking sensors with rear view camera and dynamic parking control, smart cruise control with stop/go, automatic headlights, smart key with keyless entry and start/stop button. Comfort features include air conditioning with climate control, leather steering wheel with height and reach adjustment, electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors. The 01 is also available with the 49kWh battery, increasing power to 115PS and range to 220 miles.

Priced from £26,745, the INSTER 02 49kWh 115PS builds on the 01’s specification with the addition of 17” alloy wheels, front parking sensors, LED projection headlamps and LED rear lights, privacy glass and roof rails. Interior enhancements include LED multifunction steering wheel lights, ambient lighting with a choice of 64 colours, fold flat front seats and sliding rear bench. The 02 also includes heated front seats, heated steering wheel, automatically dimming rear view mirror and wireless charging pad.

Customers choosing the 02 specification can also further personalise their INSTER with the option of a black contrast roof and door mirrors and a Tech Pack comprising Vehicle2Load (V2L) internal 3 pin plug and Digital Key system that allows the vehicle to be unlocked and started with a compatible smartphone.

INSTER is available in 9 exterior colours; 3 solid finish choices of Natural Ivory, Atlas White, and Jungle Khaki, a metallic option of Sienna Orange, 2 pearl finishes of Buttercream Yellow and Abyss Black and 3 matte options of Bijarim Khaki, Dusk Blue and Aero Silver. Inster 01 comes as standard with a black cloth interior, whilst Inster 02 has the option of two interior trims, black cloth or Newtro beige and Khaki brown cloth interior.

INSTER already can already be seen in the metal on the INSTER Roadshow that runs from October to December, taking on 86 Hyundai retailers during its journey. Customers wanting to enjoy a sneak preview ahead of the first official UK arrivals can visit www.hyundai-inster-roadshow.co.uk/hw and find their nearest participating retailer.

Customers considering PCP finance on their new INSTER can take advantage of a £500 FDA and 4.9% APR, with INSTER 01 42kWh from £248.57 p/m1, INSTER 01 49kWh from £267.03 p/m1 and INSTER 02 49kWh from £295.62 p/m1

INSTER is not only our small EV SUV for the UK market but is also our first fully electrified city car, albeit with a range and fast charging abilities that provide customers with the confidence to embark upon longer journeys. Our retailer partners and their customers have already enjoyed a sneak preview on our INSTER Roadshow and early feedback suggests that the combination of design, equipment and price point is already generating excitement in the showrooms.
